Tinubu and APC Leaders Meet Governorship Aspirants in Ekiti
In a display of what appeared like a ‘peace and parley meeting‘, Tinubu led APC stalwarts to meet with Ekiti APC gubernatorial aspirants; today, 27th of April, 2018.
The purpose of the meeting is not unconnected with party’s gubernatorial party election, due in few days’ time.
Tinubu, and other APC stalwart within and outsides the state, present at the meeting, admonished aspirants to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship. The leaders reiterated the fact that an election will always produce a winner at a time; therefore others should not see themselves as losers. Instead, they should support any candidate that wins the primary poll.
The leaders stressed further that everyone’s support is needed to ensure a complete victory in the coming gubernatorial election.
APC leaders also warned aspirants against acts that could lead to causing divisions and discords among the party members; reminding them that only in unity the party can coast home victory in the coming state election.
Asiwaju again reminded aspirants and stalwarts present, of some adverse situations in the time pasts, where aspirants defected to other political platforms when they couldn’t make victories at party primary elections. These scenarios, according to Asiwaju and other leaders, have repeatedly brought the great party down to its knees, instead of taking it up to victory.
And attitudes of supports from all aspirants go a long way to attract the general people’s interests in the party, the leaders presented.
The bottom line of the meeting can be summarized thus: “The political machine triumphs because it is acting against a divided majority”-W. Durant.
