Eleka Beats Adeyeye to Emerge as Ekiti PDP Guber Flag-bearer



Professor Olusola Eleka has been declared the winner of the just concluded Ekiti state PDP primary election.

He, Professor Olusola Eleka garnered 1,191 votes out of the 1,977 total votes cast. Eleka contended with Dayo Adeyeye who remained to be the major force contend with from the other side of the road in the race. The election was conducted today, Tuesday 8th of May, 2018 at the popular Eagle hall, Ikere road, Ado-Ekiti.

Earlier today, in the midst of the election, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, a sitting senator, representing Ekiti South in the National Assembly, stepped down for Adeyeye, a prince from Ise-Ekiti, Ekiti South Senatorial District. And following Olujimi’s withdrawal from the race, Adeyeye who is a one-time minister of works was left to contend only with Prof. Olusola Eleka, present deputy governor of the state.

Professor Olusola Eleka is now the PDP party flag bearer candidate to contest with other parties’ candidates in the coming July governorship election in Ekiti state.
