More information surfaced last night on the deal between Chief Segun Oni and Governor Ayo Fayose. Our sources revealed that Former Lagos State Commissioner Mr. Dele Alake is one of the key players in brokering the deal.
He has played and continued to play a major role in smoothening the relationship between Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Fayose.
Alake is a long time friend of Oni and Fayose’s cousin. The mother of both Alake and Fayose are from Aiyede Ekiti. One of the demands Fayose made of the Oni group is that Alake will be given the Ekiti Central Senatorial seat in 2019.
It was not difficult for Oni to agree to this since he and Alake are friends and he was also key to the negotiations. Alake ran for the same seat in 2011 and lost woefully. It is believed that he has a frosty relationship with Dr. Fayemi.
He is aggrieved that he benefited nothing from Fayemi’s four-year Governorship in Ekiti and therefore want to fight back. The camp of Fayemi is not taking this lying low as they promised to release a bombshell some hours to the primary which may cause a last-minute upset.
It is believed that they are in possession of call logs and text message exchanges among everyone involved in the deal. In fact, our sources indicate that all things being equal call logs will be released to the Press tonight.
If the two camps make true their vows the delegates are going to smile to the Bank come Saturday. Oni said that much a couple of days ago when on a radio program he said it is going to be money for money between him and Fayemi. Indeed, on the same program on Adaba FM he affirmed he works for Obasanjo who is currently campaigning against President Buhari
