*Fayemi Cleared, But on a Condition
*Panel Insists on Alerting Ekiti APC on the Dangers of picking him
After undergoing a grueling screening process yesterday, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, a former governor, and Minister has been cleared.
His clearance was however controversial as there were a sharp split and division among the committee members.
After a heated debate he was disqualified but the Committee was asked to reconvene today when a legal notice of appeal was received from him. It is believed that a member of the Committee close to him leaked the Committee decision to him. The Committee on receiving the court document had to reverse itself and agreed to clear him but decided on writing an advisory memo to the party on the danger of picking him.
Our source hinted that he was jittery and nervous all through the process of screening. Some northern members of the panel were quoted to have argued that they would not want to jeopardize the chances of the party winning in Ekiti. Ekiti, they argued, is critical to Buhari winning the second term.
